How to Build Guts using our “Guts Feeling”

We have all experienced the “gut feeling” once or twice in our lives.

You’re about to leave the house and you have that gut feeling you left something behind. I am sure we have all had that feeling.

Your about to leave the office and you have that gut feeling that you forgot to send an email or you forgot to returned a call to a client.

Ohh… this is a good one, how about having that gut feeling you didn’t hang up the phone before going off on the person you just spoke to.

Ah! those gut feeling sure to help us out on more than one occasion.

But it’s more to just having a gut feeling.

It’s being gutsy enough to follow the feeling.

It’s being brave enough to walk into a room and render a speech to total strangers, and it’s being brave enough to say yes to a new idea without knowing the repercussion it might bring.

Grit is having that gut feeling! To be brave and courageous!

 Listen to this week episode

With grits comes resilience.

To be resilient one has to have the strength to recover quickly from difficulties.

Having grit means you bounce back from the fail call.

You bounce back from the fail meeting.

You bounce back from the fail launch.

How to Build Resilience

  • Refrain from seeing crises as unbeatable problems

We can’t change the fact that crises will arise and that highly stressful events will take place. We can change our approach to each crisis that arises, we can seek help, we can find another solution and fix it. ( Bounce Back)

  • Accept that change is apart of life

We all have set goals and we all have the intention to surpass each goal therefore, you don’t expect to be in the same position. To accept that change will take place. Your intention will now become vast and different.

  • Look for opportunities for self-discovery

We are never going to be the same old “Mary, John, Ray, or Elizabeth we were in our 20’s, or 30’s. We are growing and with each new decision in life, we open the door to learning more about who we are, what pushes us, what ticks us, what motivates us and what shows us down.

Many of us have experienced some hardships that have helped build us inward and outward. Through this experience, we can gain more strength to strengthen our relationship with others and build on ourselves.

  • Take care of yourself

Life can throw many shades our way as the youths would say, but you have to pay attention to yourself, pay attention to your needs and take care of yourself.

Having grit is taking the initiative to

  • Delegate
  • Formulate new plans
  • Take actions before others.

How to build Tenacity

Tenacity is a willingness to persist, it’s setting a goal so big you can’t possibly achieve it, but grow into the person who can.

Your tenacity is tested based on your circumstances.

If your a forward thinker, with forwarding thinkers amongst you, you might not have as much problem persisting and achieving your desired goal.

However, if your someone who is a forward thinker living or working amongst naysayers who constantly say, “oh no honey that won’t work”. Then this is when you have to use your grit of tenacity to push to achieve greatness and surpass your naysayer’s expectations.

It’s time you start using grit to build your dreams.
